Kiama Council’s Compliance and Enforcement Policy assists Council staff to promptly, consistently and effectively respond to allegations of unlawful activity.

It provides clear parameters for Council officers to make sound decisions, have a consistent approach and exercise discretion when dealing with unlawful activities. This includes ensuring all relevant information (available evidence, community costs, individual circumstances, legislative requirements and case precedence) are considered.

Between 30 June and 208 July 2025, we invited you to review and provide feedback on the Draft Compliance and Enforcement Policy. You had the opportunity to share your feedback online and speak with staff at our community pop-ups.
