Kiama Council has reviewed its Councillor Expenses and Facilities Policy to ensure it meets legislative requirements, reflects current best practice and aligns with community expectations.

All councils must adopt this policy within 12 months of an ordinary council election.

The draft policy outlines the expenses Councillors can claim and the facilities available to support them in their civic duties. It provides clear guidance on travel, training, technology and other costs, with defined limits, conditions and approval processes.

The aim is to support Councillors in their roles while promoting transparency, fairness and responsible use of public funds.
