Council is seeking feedback on a draft External Grant Management Policy.
This policy sets out how Council applies for, manages, and reports on external grant funding for projects and services.
Grants are an important source of funding for Council. They help deliver projects and services for the community.
This policy aims to make sure grant funding is:
- managed transparently
- used efficiently
- aligned with Council priorities and plans.
Council currently does not have a formal policy for managing external grants. This was identified through an internal audit.
Without a policy, there is a risk that grant applications may not align with Council’s priorities, budget or long term plans.
This policy will provide clear guidance and consistency.
The draft policy outlines how Council will:
- apply for grant funding
- manage grant funded projects and budgets
- define roles and responsibilities
- complete reporting and acquittal requirements.
