Kiama Council is updating its Investment Policy and wants your feedback.
The draft policy explains how Council will manage its cash and investments to make sure public money is handled responsibly, legally and transparently. It sets clear rules for investing surplus funds, supports long-term financial sustainability and helps Council meet its legal and reporting obligations.
What’s been updated?
- Consultation references now include Council’s leadership, governance and finance teams as well as an independent investment advisor.
- A new section on Temporary Breaches explains how short-term changes in the investment portfolio may happen during key financial periods.
- Formatting and wording improvements make the policy easier to read and understand.
