Kiama Council is seeking community feedback on five proposed designs for a new fenced dog off-leash area (FOLA) in Jamberoo, located on the corner of Churchill Street and Gibson Crescent.
This project responds to strong community interest, including a 500-signature petition and community engagement results from the Dog Friendly Spaces Strategy, which highlighted Jamberoo’s need for a dedicated dog park. After assessing six locations, this site was deemed more suitable.
Thanks to NSW Government grant funding and Council contributions, five design options have been developed. These vary in size, layout and access points, with some offering separate areas for small and large dogs.
We want to hear from you! Which option do you like best? Your feedback will help shape the final design and ensure the park meets community needs.
- Preferred layout and size of the dog park
- Access point (e.g. from Churchill Street or Gibson Crescent)
- Whether the park should be mixed or segregated (separate areas for small and large dogs)
- Location within the reserve (east, west, or central)
- Community priorities (e.g. shade, seating, water access)
- The site location: the dog park has been built on the corner of Churchill Street and Gibson Crescent
- The budget: the project is funded through a NSW Government grant and Council contributions, with a total budget of $145,613
- The purpose: the space will be a fenced, off-leash dog area
- Timeframe: the grant must be used by November 2026
