The Kiama Sports Complex and Leisure Centre are vital hubs for sports and recreation in the Kiama Local Government Area.

However, the playing surface and lighting need significant infrastructure upgrades, and the buildings and amenities are nearing the end of their lifespan. At this stage, minor repairs are no longer enough to keep them functioning at a high standard.

With the right improvements, this facility has the potential to enhance participation through better amenities, a more integrated design and high-quality infrastructure.

We've prepared a Masterplan Report (PDF, 15.65 MB) along with three options for you to review. You can find them in the Document Library.

How we got here

Community consultation is the first step in the masterplanning process. It helps gather people’s ideas and priorities for the space, ensuring their needs are addressed in the designs. Read the Community Engagement Report (PDF, 9.42 MB) for an overview of what we heard during the community consultation phase.

Guiding principles

The consultation process set up some key design principles that can help guide masterplanning and any future design work. They also serve as a handy way to assess different aspects of the design.
