Planning Proposal - PP-2025-1047 - Housekeeping 2025
The Planning Proposal seeks to amend the Kiama Local Environmental Plan 2011 (Kiama LEP 2011) as follows:
- Rezone nine (9) State Agency Owned sites (Transport for NSW, Sydney Water and Endeavour Energy) to ensure the land zoning is consistent with the current and intended use of the sites.
- Apply a minimum Lot Size of 40ha to a number of sites throughout the Kiama LGA that are zoned RU1 Primary Production, C2 Environmental Conservation and C3 Environmental Management. A 40ha minimum lot size applied to these sites under the Kiama 1996 LEP and was intended to have applied to the sites under the Kiama LEP 2011 when it was prepared.
- Make other minor development standard amendments to some sites along Caliope Street, Kiama and 1 Newing Circuit, Kiama Downs.

Background
Kiama Council has received a Gateway Determination to proceed with the exhibition of Planning Proposal PP-2025-1047. Council is the plan-making authority for this Planning Proposal.
This Planning Proposal was prepared by Council and seeks to make housekeeping amendments to the Kiama LEP 2011.
The Planning Proposal has been updated based on the Gateway Conditions. The Rural Fire Service (RFS) have raised no objections to the proposal.
In accordance with the Council Resolution and Gateway Determination the Planning Proposal is on public exhibition for 28 days, between Monday 14 July to Sunday 10 August 2025.
