The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure is proposing an amendment to the Kiama Local Environmental Plan 2011 (LEP) to rezone the Kiama Depot site for residential development. This change would support new housing opportunities in Kiama while improving transport connections and community amenity.
The site, comprising 3 lots at 5 Belvedere Street and 105-109 and 113 Shoalhaven Street, Kiama (Lots 101, 102, 103 DP 775450 Lot 2 DP 594528), is located approximately 350 metres from Kiama Railway Station and 500 metres from Kiama Town Centre.

- Approximately 450 new homes, with 10% dedicated to affordable housing
- Building heights between 6 and 8 storeys
- Around 600 parking spaces for residents and visitors
- Opportunities to improve active transport options, such as walking and cycling.
This proposal aims to provide more housing choices, including affordable options, and create a well-connected, sustainable neighbourhood close to services and transport.
