Council is partnering with DTM Tourism to develop a new Kiama Visitor Economy Strategy (KVES) to guide tourism planning and management over the next four years.
The Strategy will deliver a practical, flexible, and future-focused plan to support a thriving, sustainable visitor economy, benefiting both the local tourism industry and the broader Kiama community.
Building on existing foundations, including the 2018–2028 Tourism Opportunities Plan and the Tourism & Events Strategic Plan (2022–2026), the KVES will set out clear actions, measurable outcomes, and align Kiama’s priorities with regional, state, and national directions — while celebrating the unique character and strengths of our region.
How to have your say
Targetted consultation
During May 2025, key tourism stakeholders are invited to participate in tailored consultations with the project team to share their insights, challenges, and opportunities for Kiama’s visitor economy.
If you consider yourself a key tourism stakeholder and would like to get involved, please email Council@kiama.nsw.gov.au
Community survey
In June 2025, community groups and members will be invited to share their views on local tourism through a survey. This is your chance to help shape the future of tourism in our region—what’s working, what’s not, and what opportunities lie ahead.
If you’d like to be notified when the survey goes live, click ‘Follow’ at the top of this page to stay updated and get involved.
