Kiama Council is inviting community feedback on its updated Code of Meeting Practice, which outlines how Council meetings are conducted.

This draft Code incorporates the mandatory provisions of the 2025 Model Code of Meeting Practice for Local Councils in NSW, issued by the Office of Local Government.

The revised Code ensures compliance with the Local Government Act 1993 and reflects current meeting procedures, including updates to remote attendance, voting processes and public forums. It also retains selected non-mandatory provisions to support efficient and transparent governance.

The Code of Meeting Practice is a key governance document that promotes transparency, accountability and community trust.
