Public exhibition of the draft Code ran from 27 October to 24 November 2025, with late submissions accepted until 8 December in line with the Local Government Act 1993.

The draft incorporated mandatory provisions from the 2025 Model Code of Meeting Practice for Local Councils in NSW and retained selected non-mandatory provisions to support efficient and transparent governance.

Key updates included:

  • Remote attendance – refinements to rules for councillors and public participation in meetings.
  • Voting procedures – adjustments to improve clarity and consistency.
  • Public forums – updated management processes for community engagement during meetings.

The Code of Meeting Practice is a key governance document that promotes transparency, accountability and community trust.

A workshop with Councillors will be held in early 2026, followed by final adoption of the Code.
