The Asset Management Plan – Footpaths and Cycleways outlines how Council will manage and maintain pedestrian and shared path infrastructure across the municipality over the next 10 years.
The Asset Management Plan (AMP) has been developed in line with Australian Accounting Standards and ISO 55000 Asset Management Standards. It supports the sustainable delivery of services, compliance with regulatory requirements and long-term financial planning.
The AMP covers:
- Footpaths and shared paths across Kiama
- Asset condition and replacement value (estimated at $16.6 million)
- Service levels and funding needs
- Risk management and improvement actions
- Alignment with Council’s Community Strategic Plan and Long-Term Financial Plan.

How we got here
Public exhibition
From 3 November to 1 December 2025, we invited feedback on the draft Asset Management Plan: Footpaths and Cycleways through our online platform.
How you got involved
What we heard
We received two submissions: one supported the draft plan and the other was unsure. The feedback raised concerns about:
- Timing of customer satisfaction surveys
- Maintenance budget funding
- Long term financial planning of footpath and cycleway assets
- Location of assets included in the AMP
- Roads without footpaths
